Purpose and Principles.
Charles Henry Terrell Academy is an independent private day school devoted to serving the educational needs of beautiful, bright and vibrant students with learning differences such as executive function difficulties and attention issues. Our program is designed for students who process information differently that are expected in a conventional classroom. C.H. Terrell Academy is accredited by the Georgia Accrediting Commission, Inc. (GAC).
PHILOSOPHY
C.H.TA. is concerned with meeting the spiritual, intellectual, physical, and socio-emotional needs of each student. Methods of instruction are adjusted for individual differences and the various stages of growth development. We recognize that certain conditions exist in every child. When these conditions, such as individual differences, readiness, motivation, purpose, and interest are met, the student can learn. Each student at C.H. Terrell Academy is treated with respect and love. C.H.T.A ’s program is geared to incorporate activities relevant to his or her individual needs.
MISSION
C.H. Terrell Academy offers a unique educational opportunity. It is our belief that all children can learn once their curriculum and environmental needs are met. At C. H. Terrell Academy, we meet those needs by providing a warm and nurturing environment with no more than ten students in our classes. The curriculum is flexible to meet the needs of each student. This unique setting ensures maximum academic growth and guarantees that children of all abilities receive a personalized education.
